Does a leaseholder have to pay towards the maintenance of a lift if they do not use it?

The leaseholder should always refer to the terms of the lease in order to establish what they are required to pay. In almost all cases the lease will give the landlord the right to recover the costs of maintaining the communal parts of the property and all of the leaseholders will be required to contribute towards the cost of these facilities, such as the lift, regardless of whether they use them.
